I like that a key's neck is described as the "nape" (the back of the neck, or the part that you hold onto?).

my key system: pointy one for the front door. yellowish one is for the cellar, if that one doesn't work, try the other yellowish one. the big science-fictiony one is for the music school. i forget what the other half-dozen ones are for. the car key is in my other pocket, or locked inside the car.
